A career diplomat, Francesco Aloisi de Larderel held positions in Canada, Switzerland, Cuba and, more recently, in Egypt, where he was ambassador from 1996 to 2001.
He was Deputy Director-General for Economic Affairs and Deputy Sherpa of the Group of Seven (G7) Summits in Paris, London, Houston and Munich.
He has extensively worked in the Italian Development Cooperation, where he held the position of Director General from 1993 to 1996.
He was also Director-General for Cultural Promotion and Cooperation 2001-2004 and he left the diplomatic service in early 2004.
In the course of his career, he extensively dealt with the economic aspects – bilateral and multilateral – of Italian international relations and he has published several articles, mainly concerning issues of development and cooperation.
In 1988 he published “Dall’Aiuto alla Cooperazione [from aid to cooperation] – nascita ed evoluzione di un nuovo orizzonte delle relazioni internazionali”, Fratelli Palombi Editori.
